Video Trackless Coil Car

Avon Engineering has designed and built a Trackless Semi Automatic Single Coil Transfer Car. The Coil Transfer Car is electrically powered and is designed with its own source of power. The Transfer Car has an internal combustion engine running on propane which drives a 460 Volt, 20KW generator set. Avon also designs Trackless & Tracked Transfer Cars that can be powered Hydraulically, Generator or Battery. This Coil car was designed to negotiate an “S” curve with a maximum turning radius of 10 feet while carrying a single 45,000lb (20 tonne) coil. The transfer car follows a wire embedded in the concrete floor and normally travels at a speed of 65 fpm, but is adjustable to suit each customer’s specific requirement.
