Coil Grabs (Coil Lifting Devices)

Coil grabs, also known as coil lifting devices, are specialized below-the-hook lifting tools that safely and efficiently handle coiled materials such as steel, aluminum, and wire in industrial facilities. These devices are designed to secure a coil by gripping the outer diameter or inner diameter (or both) to ensure stability and prevent damage to the coil during lifting and transport.

Commonly used in steel mills, metal fabrication plants, and storage warehouses, coil grabs are engineered for strength and reliability. Avon Engineering telescopic coil grabs are of robust construction with motorized adjustment of the arms to suit coil width. The arms are supported on replaceable aluminum bronze wear strips and the drive includes a torque limit clutch to minimize the risk of damage to coils and drive system. The drive system is self-locking and adjustment of the arm position can only be achieved by operation of the adjusting motor. The arms are telescoped by rack and pinion in a self-centering manner.
